How We Rate Casinos
We publish casino ratings based on a fixed scoring model with clearly defined inputs and weighting. Each casino's score is calculated from hard data and real player feedback across four categories: expert evaluation, regional fit, user reviews, and bonus quality. Every rating is then adjusted by a confidence multiplier that reflects how much verified data supports the score. The result is a transparent, data-driven system where no casino can buy or manipulate its position.
Understanding Our Rating Scale
We use an absolute 0–100% scale. Each casino receives a percentage based only on its own data and results. Scores are not adjusted to fit the rest of the list. All casinos on our platform meet baseline quality standards, so if you see it here, it's already been vetted.
| Rating % | Label | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| 57%+ | 🏆 BEST CHOICE | Casinos with high scores across all rating components and enough verified data to support the result |
| 34–56% | ⭐ HIGHLY RATED | Casinos with solid scores across most categories and enough verified data to support the rating. |
| 10–33% | 🛡️ TRUSTED | Casinos with limited verified data, where the rating may change as more reviews and votes are collected. |
| Below 10% | ⚠️ CAUTION | Insufficient verified data to produce a stable score. |
Why do most casinos score below 50%? Our system intentionally penalizes lack of data. Platforms with few player reviews, limited bonus votes, or unfinished expert checks cannot score high regardless of how good they might be. As more verified information becomes available, ratings are recalculated and can increase accordingly. Casinos that show serious risk signals or fail critical verification checks are not rated at all and are placed directly on our blacklisted casinos list
The Rating Formula
Each casino’s rating is calculated in two steps. First, we combine scores from four areas using set percentages. Second, we apply a Confidence factor that reflects how much verified data supports the rating. The base score is built from these components:
- Brand Score – 30%
- Geo Score – 15%
- User Reviews – 35%
- Bonus Score – 20%
Each area is rated from 0 to 5. Player reviews have the strongest influence on the final result. These scores are combined into one base score using this formula:
Final Rating = (Brand × 30% + Geo × 15% + Reviews × 35% + Bonus × 20%) × Confidence
The Confidence factor ranges from 0.35 to 1.0 and is based on the amount of verified data, such as approved reviews and bonus votes.
- Close to 1.0 – strong data support
- Close to 0.35 – limited data
When data is limited, the final score is reduced. As more verified information is collected, this reduction becomes smaller. The adjusted score is then converted into a percentage based on a maximum score of 5.0. This means that high percentages require both strong performance and enough reliable data.
The 4 Rating Components
1. Brand Score
This category covers the casino's overall business quality, licensing, and industry reputation.
Key factors:
- Valid gambling licenses (Malta, UK, Curaçao, etc.)
- Years in operation
- Parent company reputation and track record
- Payment processing reliability
- Regulatory compliance history
-
How it's scored:
Our editorial team assigns a score from 0 to 5 based on a comprehensive review. Casinos that haven't been manually evaluated receive an automatic score based on their operating history, capped at 1.0 out of 5.0, ensuring they never outrank casinos that have been properly reviewed. -
Example:
A casino licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority with 10+ years of operation and a reputable parent company will score significantly higher than a new brand with unclear licensing details.
2. Geo Score
What it covers: how well the casino serves players in your specific country or region.
Key factors:
- Licensing valid for your jurisdiction
- Local currency support
- Regional payment methods available
- Language support
- Country-specific promotions
-
How it's scored:
Each casino receives a regional score from 0 to 5 for every country we cover. If no regional data is available, a neutral default of 2.0 is applied. -
Why it matters:
Global reputation does not guarantee good local conditions. Some casinos offer limited payment options, unsupported currencies, or incomplete language versions in certain regions. The Geo Score accounts for these differences and reflects how well a platform actually operates in your country.
3. User Reviews
What we measure: Verified player feedback across five categories.
The 5 review categories:
- Promotions & Bonuses: Fair offers or marketing traps?
- Deposits & Withdrawals: Fast payments or endless delays?
- Game Variety: Quality selection or limited options?
- Customer Support: Helpful or non-existent?
- Website Experience: Easy to use or frustrating?
How we calculate: Each player review rates all five categories on a scale from 0 to 5. These scores are averaged to form an overall result, and the casino's final user score is calculated from all approved reviews. If a casino has no player feedback, it receives a default score of 2.5 out of 5.0, which is deliberately lower than the typical average. In this case, the confidence factor also reduces the rating until verified feedback becomes available. All submitted reviews are manually checked before being included in the calculation.
4. Bonus Verification
What we measure: Whether bonuses are actually good deals, verified by real users.
How it works: Every bonus gets voted on:
- Like = "Fair terms, achievable wagering"
- Dislike = "Hidden restrictions, impossible requirements"
How we calculate: Bonus Score = (Total Likes / Total Reactions) × 5.0
This means we divide the number of "Like" votes by the total number of reactions (Likes + Dislikes) and then multiply the result by 5 to convert it to a 0–5 scale. At least 3 total reactions across all bonuses are required before the score is applied. If there are fewer than 3 votes, the bonus score remains 0 until enough feedback is collected.
Examples:| Casino | Likes | Dislikes | Bonus Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Casino A | 85 | 15 | 4.25 / 5.0 |
| Casino B | 30 | 30 | 2.50 / 5.0 |
| Casino C | 5 | 20 | 1.00 / 5.0 |
| Casino D | 1 | 0 | 0 (below minimum) |
Bonus King status is assigned to casinos with at least 5 active bonuses, 10 or more total votes, and a like ratio of 85% or higher. This label indicates consistently strong bonus conditions confirmed by player voting.
Data Confidence
Confidence indicates how reliable a rating is based on the amount of verified data behind it. A casino may show high scores across several categories, but if these results are based on only one review and a few bonus votes, the rating cannot yet be considered stable. Our confidence system addresses this by applying a multiplier that reduces ratings when data is scarce.
How Confidence Works
This indicator starts at 0.35 when little or no verified data is available and increases as reviews and bonus votes accumulate, up to a maximum of 1.0. In simplified form, it is calculated as:
Confidence = 0.35 + growth based on available data (up to 1.0)
| Reviews | Bonus Votes | Confidence | Effect on Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0 | 0.35 | Rating reduced by 65% |
| 1 | 0 | ~0.42 | Rating reduced by 58% |
| 2 | 5 | ~0.50 | Rating reduced by 50% |
| 3 | 10 | ~0.63 | Rating reduced by 37% |
| 6+ | 15+ | 1.00 | No reduction – full rating |
Confidence Labels
Use the confidence badge as a context signal. A strong rating with limited data should be treated as provisional.
| Badge | Meaning | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| 🟢 Verified | Confidence ≥ 70%: sufficient data supports this rating | Rating is reliable |
| 🟡 Limited Data | Confidence 45–69%: some data, but rating may shift | Consider the rating directional |
| 🔴 Unverified | Confidence below 45%: very limited data | Treat as preliminary, check back later |
Casinos with limited data receive rating penalties to ensure fairness. As more data comes in, ratings automatically adjust.
Special Labels
Alongside ratings, we apply special labels to flag notable casino characteristics at a glance.
| Label | When It Appears | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 🆕 New | The casino is less than 6 months old with fewer than 3 reviews | New to our platform |
| 👑 Bonus King | 5+ bonuses, 10+ votes, 85%+ like ratio | Consistently high bonus approval confirmed by players. |
Example Calculation
Data available: 25 reviews and 50 bonus votes
Confidence: 1.0 (no penalty)
Final calculation:Raw rating = 4.07 × 1.0 = 4.07 Rating % = 4.07 / 5 × 100 = 81%
Result: 81% – BEST CHOICE, Verified
Same casino, but with limited data (2 reviews, 4 bonus votes):
Confidence = 0.50 Raw rating = 4.07 × 0.50 = 2.04 Rating % = 2.04 / 5 × 100 = 41%
Result: 41% – HIGHLY RATED, Limited Data
The scores are identical, but the confidence penalty reflects that the rating isn't fully proven yet.
